And I will be continuing on from there with the history
Kirito and Asuna meet up with Argo in a pub and discuss the Second Floor dungeon. Kirito's purpose for meeting with Argo is to find out information about the Legend Braves and Asuna's to find out if weapon breaking was a possible penalty in an unsuccessful upgrade attempt. They discover that a weapon only breaks when there's no upgrade attempts left. After the meeting, Kirito and Asuna go off to stakeout Nezha's blacksmith scam. Eventually someone comes along and asks for an upgrade to his weapon, and Nezha pulls his scam again for Asuna and Kirito to see. This annoys Asuna. While Kirito and Asuna are discussing how to handle the scam, Kirito gets a message from Argo that details information about the Legend Braves including the meaning of their names, based on legendary heroes of different lore. Due to the nature of Nezha's name and it being a hero's, Kirito finally discovers the secret to the scam.
Now in a full-armored disguise, Kirito heads to Nezha to reveal the trick to the scam while Asuna stays behind in their stakeout location to watch from afar. He uses his own sword as bait and once the sword shatters from the "failed" upgrade, Kirito reveals his true identity and that he knows the trick. Nezha tries to run away but Asuna stops him before he can get too far. Nezha explains the reason he took up blacksmithing -- he has Full-Dive Nonconformity. Meaning that while he 'dives' there a problem with the way the NerveGear communicates with his brain. In his case, there is a slight problem with depth perception. In a death game, this is horrible handicap so he chooses to stay away from battle and instead takes up blacksmithing even if he wants to fight. The scam idea wasn't his idea or the Legend Braves'. An outside source suggested it. Kirito and Asuna decide a way for Nezha to atone for his sins is to give up his crafting and become a fighter again. Kirito helps this along by giving Nezha a rare ranged weapon he found in the dungeon but has no use for and a map with a location to learn an important skill: Martial Arts.
On December 14, 2022 the front-line has finally reached the Second Floor dungeon boss. With 46 players, they're almost a full raid. Kirito and Asuna join the axe-wielder Agil's party so they're not left out and some time is dedicated to the different groups' jobs and strategy to handle the boss and its attacks. Kirito and Asuna's group handle the sub-boss, Nato the Colonel Taurus, while the other parties focus on what is assumed to be the main boss, General Baran. Despite Kirito's warnings before taking on the boss, a fair few of players of the main group line the back wall because they've been Paralyzed by the second hit of Numbing Impact. Because of the struggle the main force is going through, Kirito breaks away from his party and talks to Lind, the raid leader. Even if there are paralyzed players, the main force is already nearly half-way done with the boss and are now used to the boss' attack patterns so Kirito makes his way back to his group. As soon as both Nato and Baran are at half health the true boss, Asterios the Taurus King, appears.
Kirito, Asuna, and Agil's group quickly defeat Nato in an all-out offensive and then go on to join the raid, by Asuna's order, to help defeat Baran. With the full raid now on Baran and Asterios looming closer, they get rid of the general as quickly as they did the colonel. However, Asuna is in radius of a long range attack The King is letting loose. Kirito dives after her but both get hit with the Paralyzing Attack and are left immobile on the ground. Expecting to die, they're saved by Nezha with the rare ranged weapon Kirito had given him. With the help of Nezha's new power and Argo's information gathering, the raid defeats the true boss and the Second Floor is conquered just ten days after the First.
After the boss fight, Nezha admits to his scam in front of the raid. While coming up with a proper punishment for all the trouble he put others through, death seems like the atonement since the scam had allegedly resulted in the death of another player because he lost a strong weapon to fight mobs with. The Legend Braves step in before anything can happen, admitting to their own involvement. None of the players want to kill six people so things are settled peacefully. Kirito and Asuna are off to activate the Teleport Gate and ascend the stairs to the Third Floor.
Progressive Volume 2
The Third Floor of Aincrad follows the theme of a forest, which house the Dark Elves and the Light Elves. They are SAO's first humanoid mobs and the true challenge when it comes to the game. The two clans are always in battle with each other. One of the first long campaign quests of SAO involves these two groups and Asuna and Kirito must decide who to save during the start of the quest. In the beta, Kirito chose the Dark Elf but every time he made an attempt it resulted in the Dark Elf using a self-destruct spell to take down the Light Elf. When Kirito and Asuna take on the quest this time, Asuna is able to whittle down the Light Elf's health to the point that the Dark Elf doesn't need to use the self-destruct spell and Kizmel, the Dark Elf Knight NPC, joins Kirito and Asuna's party.
Before leaving to make their way to the Dark Elf base camp, Kirito notices that Kizmel acts differently from other mobs or even some NPCs. Her behavior is more closely tied to that of an AI rather than an NPC. Once they reach camp, they report to the authority figure of the Dark Elves base camp, are able to pick a couple of rewards, and are onto the next part of the campaign. Before heading out, they get their rest in Kizmel's tent and share the space between the three of them. Since they have time to spare, Kirito and Asuna explore the camp. They take a bath first (separately of course) and then head to the dining tent to get some food before calling it a night. In the middle of it, Kirito wakes up and wanders off to find Kizmel since she's missing. When he finds her, she's at her sister's grave and she talks about her sister to Kirito.
The next morning, the three head out for the next stage of the quest -- a cave full of spiders they have to defeat, basically. They come across a few spiders in the forest but make it to the nest without much trouble. In the middle of dungeon crawling the spider cave, they happen across players who are also in the middle of a quest. This case, it's the quest to start your own guild that's now available so the players are from Kibaou's Aincrad Liberation Squad. The three of them hide in Kizmel's Invisibility Cloak ripoff so they're not found since it could cause problems. They're able to find the item they're looking for in the dungeon but suddenly there's a lot of shouting and screaming. Kibaou's squad has happened upon the spider queen boss and they're trying to run away. In order to help out, Kirito and Asuna lure the boss into a room and dispatch of it so the other players can get away and come back later to try again.
They head back to camp and turn in the item before Asuna reminds Kirito that she needs to forge a new sword. They meet up with the Dark Elf blacksmith, who is very grumpy and non-talkative even for an NPC, and ask him to forge a new rapier for Asuna. First they turn her current sword into an ingot to use and then Asuna is given the Chivalric Rapier. It's twice as strong as Kirito's Anneal Blade +6 even without upgrades. They question the reliability of the blacksmith but he's actually legit so they upgrade the Chivalric Rapier to +5 and Kirito's sword to it's max, +8. They decide to tell the rest of the playerbase about the blacksmith since Nezha going back to fighting leaves them with the normal NPC blacksmiths.
Two parts of the major quest completed, Kirito and Asuna decide to head back to the main town finally. They happen across another party, Lind's Dragon Knights, that's starting their same quest and expect another version of Kizmel to be fighting. But it's not her, much to the shock of Kirito and Asuna. The party's quest ends how Kirito remembers it in the beta, with both elves dying in battle. They hear from Lind's group that the front-liners are having a strategy meeting that night and plan to attend. Once arriving at the main city, Zumfrut, they find a place to call their home base for a short stay. All the buildings in Zumfrut are from hollowed out trees and stand as tall as skyscrapers, Asuna is very amaze. Kirito and Asuna find a place to stay on the top floors of these tree buildings. Asuna asks Kirito if it's better to play solo or have a partner, talks about her earlier comment about staying herself and then tells Kirito that if she's ever a hindrance, she needs to be told. Kirito responds in saying he's happy she's working with him because she's strong.
The strategy meeting begins and everything is going along as normal until Lind makes a comment about Kirito and Asuna eventually joining a guild. Both of them have no plans to join either guild but Lind makes it a point to say that the two of them can't join the same guild because that would put the power between the two groups out of balance. Asuna doesn't like that and she especially doesn't like being ignored in favor of Lind discussing things with Kirito without her input. She's about to start a fight about it, tells Kirito to not stop her, but Kirito is able to stop her by finally being able to express his feelings properly to her. He doesn't want her to die, that's his goal above all else, and there may come a time when they need the help of Lind and to not go making enemies of him for that purpose. He's able to say this because of the encouragement from Kizmel's voice that he thinks he imagines. But she actually followed the two along into the main town because she wants to protect them both and was ordered to do so. Kizmel, please.
Since Kizmel came all the way to see them, they all go back to the Dark Elf camp much to Asuna's happiness. They choose to stay there until the boss fight. For three days they complete quests, collect upgrade materials, and buff up skills to earn mods. Kirito and Asuna have a chat and Asuna confesses that she's looking forward to seeing what Aincrad has in store and Kirito is impressed by her spirit. In those three days, the front-line defeats the field boss on the floor so they're well on their way to making it to the floor dungeon. After Asuna finishes her bath it's Kirito's turn and she heads off to the dining tent to get some food for them. But while he's in there Kizmel drops in to take her own bath and asks if she can join him. Kirito says he's just leaving but before he can get a chance to plan his escape, Kizmel begins stripping and he's roped into washing her back for her. Poor Kirito. But while doing so, Kizmel shares her dreams with Kirito that basically reflect what happened during the beta test. Asuna interrupts since Kirito has taken a longer time than usual but she doesn't catch Kirito scrubbing Kizmel's naked back as a mercy to Kirito.
Once again, in the middle of the night, Kirito has some business with Argo so he leaves the camp to go find her by himself. At some point, Kirito had messaged Argo to look up any new members of the "guilds" since he's thinking a previous beta tester might have joined up to tell them about the quest he and Asuna are on with Kizmel. After talking to Argo, Kirito goes off to finish the current part of the quest they're working on by himself by infiltrating a Forest Elf camp. Before he can do so, he comes across the beta tester who's helping the other guilds: Morte. Morte is hanging out because he was waiting for either Kirito or Asuna to show up and Kirito is the angry one now. Morte wants to duel Kirito and stop him from finishing another part of the campaign on his own. So the two duel and Kirito finds out that Morte is a PK'er (but the mobs do his dirty work) who is really good at duels and somehow a part of both Lind and Kibaou's group. Kirito wins the duel because Morte gives up, saying he's out of time. Kirito goes on to infiltrate the camp but two groups of people are already there. One group is from Aincrad Liberation and the other is from Dragon Knights. They're fighting over who gets to finish the quest first. While they're busy bickering, Kirito uses that time to finish the quest himself so the camp respawns somewhere else and they have to look for it again. lol
Of course everyone is pissed at Kirito for ruining everything but he did it to stop the guilds dumb bickering. Kirito says he's going to abandon the quest to tackle the floor dungeon in order to stop the stupid squabbling and take all the good loot from the chests. He's antagonized by some other people in the guild because they don't believe him and they say he's just lying so he can get some special item used to defeat the boss when the quest is completed, what they're told the reward is. They say Kirito is just distracting them while Asuna is off finishing the quest on her own but Asuna actually shows up at that point to take the heat off Kirito. Still, the guilds are stubborn and want to complete the quest even if it means they're going to fight later on. It's not just Kirito and Asuna though, Kizmel has followed them AGAIN and announces she's a part of their party so she would be following Kirito and Asuna into the floor dungeon. Her level is really high and this intimidates the group and they realize Kirito isn't actually bluffing so they give up the quest to start on the dungeon to the surprise of Kirito. They designate Kirito and Asuna to finish the quest though, to gather information. Again, to the surprise of Kirito.
Kizmel is actually willing to help Kirito and Asuna if they decide to plunder the floor dungeon but says she'll do it for a price. To learn about Kirito and Asuna's history and get to know them better. I'm emotional, KIZMEL. Asuna is more than happy to pay that price. So Kirito and Asuna do continue on with the quest they've been "assigned" to investigate but it turns out that there is no special item to defeat the boss. Just information on how to do it, oops. During the quest however, Kizmel has to leave and everyone is sad. Asuna is very sad and they share a HUG since the two of them treated each other like sisters by the end of their involvement as a party. Even without Kizmel to share the tent with, Kirito and Asuna stay in the Dark Elf camp until the second strategy meeting.
December 21, the Third Floor boss is defeated. Hooray. Onto the fourth floor.
Progressive Volume 3
The fourth floor consists of waterways and channels although in the beta, Kirito remembered it as a dried up desert from the beta. There have been changes for the better. In order to get to the first town, Rovia, and the teleport gate, Kirito and Asuna have to float on these inner tubes that were originally fruit from a tree. I don't get it either. Neither does Asuna. Either way, they travel this way instead of swimming because you need the "Swimming" skill in order to swim effectively. They make it to the town and this has changed from the beta, too. Now it's like Venice, or so Asuna says. Players have to travel by gondola and that's Asuna and Kirito's first quest on this new floor. They find an old man NPC, Asuna calls him Grandpa, and he gives them their quest to acquire a gondola.
After talking to the NPC, the two head out to gather materials for their gondola. Since Asuna is picky and doesn't half-ass anything, she wants to best materials to make an awesome gondola. That means fighting a Bear King. So they do and they win and Asuna gets all the fancy materials she needs for a top-notch gondola. They return to the Grandpa NPC to have their gondola made and it takes a few hours but soon enough they have the Tilnel as their new mode of transportation throughout the fourth floor.
The next day, the two set out to explore the rest of the fourth floor and the dungeons it has to offer. They continue on with the quest they had received from the NPC who made their gondola and that means tracking down a ship. They find the ship owned by enemies they had encountered on the previous floor when they were partied up with Kizmel -- Fallen Elves. On the ship, they have boxes their stashing away so Kirito and Asuna decide they need to find out what is in those boxes. They sneak into the base the Fallen Elves had disappeared to and find the boxes hidden away.
Personality:
"I'd rather be myself until the very last moment. Even if it means dying at the hands of a monster... I don't want to let this game beat me. I won't let it happen."
When first meeting Asuna, everyone is usually struck stupid by her beauty. She’s gorgeous enough to have stalkers, fanclubs, and become incredibly popular in the world of «Sword Art Online». I’m talking idol status. The main protagonist thinks she’s way too beautiful to even be real and wonders if she’s an NPC at multiple points throughout the series. However, Asuna is more than just a pretty face (or voice, according to Kirito). She has a kind and good heart to match, the social etiquette and manners of a princess due to being a rich girl raised in a traditional family, and enough determination and spirit to bulldoze head-on through any challenge or obstacle that stands in her way.
Although a lot of the time Asuna's big heart and the fact that she cares about others is hidden behind a straight-laced warrior, she's not unkind. It just takes a bit longer to get to her softer side because she's built up walls during her stay in SAO for her own protection. She's determined to beat all of the floors as quickly and as efficiently as possible and that's her primary goal. Of course, she has other small goals along the way like taking a bath every day, if possible. She's a bit more soft towards girls because they're rare in SAO and because she went to an All Girl's School so she knows how to handle them better. When meeting Kizmel, a female NPC Dark Elf, Asuna has no problems with taking a bath or sleeping next to her. When in the same situation with Kirito, she makes him stand guard while she bathes and draws an invisible line he can't cross while they sleep. Once you're her friend she can be affectionate and nurturing and extremely protective. Friends and non-friends alike do get a taste of her mischievous side in her playful humor and sharp wit. She likes teasing Kirito on occasion about the fact that he tends to wear black too much early on in their relationship.
She’s reckless enough to put her life on the line for other's protection. The fact is that she can’t stand death in SAO nor can she stand not being able to do anything. When a party is suffering from fighting a boss, Asuna rushes in to save them without thought. Seeing others dying so pointlessly is unacceptable when she tries so hard to calculate ways to avoid losses and ensure victory. Not only that, but pointless deaths decrease the chance of beating the game and that is the ultimate goal. Judging by these acts and Asuna’s previous behavior when she first started SAO (fighting without for four days straight in a dungeon full of monsters to get stronger) she is incredibly chivalrous. Yet Asuna’s self-image of herself isn’t necessarily a positive thing. Asuna struggles to find her place in the world since she’s been so focused on school for so long and nothing else. She doesn’t see herself as strong (or as strong as she hopes and aims to be) and often tries to better herself while hiding any weakness she might have. Which is interesting to note because she has given Kirito the advice that he should talk to people when he's upset or depressed. Despite that, she has a bit of a temper and sensitive heart so she can’t always hide those negative emotions. She acts rashly during those temper flares, throwing an apple at Kirito's head when he enters her room for no reason other than she just didn't want him in her room (she apologizes after though). She isn’t afraid to beat you down or threaten if you really piss her off either. A good way to make her angry besides attacking people she cares about is to make decisions for her, at that point her pride rears its head.
With that hot-blooded type of temper, Asuna is a passionate young woman with a lot of pride. When she has goals, she doesn’t allow anyone or anything to get in her way in order to complete it. She becomes a rather serious, a little too serious at times, girl with laser focus. This is one of the main reasons she became the sub-leader of the strongest guild in SAO, Knights of Blood, and a top player with renowned skills. Kirito calls her “A Floor-Clearing Badass”. Along with her extreme determination and willpower, Asuna has the battle experience and strategic know-how to think of battle formations and attack patterns on the fly that lead to victory. She is incredibly smart and her placement at the top of the class in school, before the SAO incident, and good marks shows she has book smarts along with street smarts. Not to mention plenty of competitiveness in her to be the best. The KOB guild looked to Asuna’s leadership skills during meetings to come up with counter-strategy against formidable bosses with their lives in her hands. She’s a quick study, able to pick up on the mechanics of how to play an MMO despite the fact she was a total beginner and had never played an MMO before then. Her talents and potential to do anything she wants if she sets her mind to it shine when she was just a Level 10 Player.
Because of her intelligence, Asuna favors reason and logic over following your heart. But she wouldn't be a heroine of a shounen novel if she didn't follow her heart at times, too. Because she's usually a reasonable individual, her demeanor is calmer than you might expect from someone who will inexplicably get mad at someone because she's embarrassed or that she's trying to be a hero that jumps headlong into danger to save someone. Kirito suffers that temper quite a lot when the two of them are together on the first floors of Aincrad. However when the first raid of SAO is in chaos because they're blaming Kirito for a player's death, Asuna steps in and calmly points out that without his knowledge as a beta tester they would be in a worse position instead of joining in the group blaming him. After Kirito is coined with the villainous nickname 'Beater', Asuna tags along with him without a care of how people perceive her. Rather, she envies the strength he showed because it's detrimental when it comes to surviving SAO and wants to learn from it.
Asuna’s life had been a series of battles starting from a Kindergarten entrance exam and on towards middle school but she moved forward by overcoming them. She lived by a routine and set goals for the future and only focused on that; It was a lifestyle that was used in SAO to beat the game as quickly as possible as well. In that sense, she can sometimes seem a bit single-minded. Sometimes she forgets about people's feelings when she has that goal in mind. A lot of the guild members were told to follow the rules in order to prioritize beating the game by Asuna herself and were pushed very hard. People in her class also tended to think of her as too serious and not having enough personality to have any good stories to tell. Her relationship with her family is also not very fulfilling since she's so focused on staying at the top of the class and making her mother proud. In a way, she doesn't have any true friendships or healthy relationships in her life until she enters SAO. The relationships she maintains at first are those from people she can learn from and purely to gain knowledge. Even Kirito, her partner, is someone she hangs around because she wants to learn how to become stronger by his example and knowledge. But as time goes on, she bonds with Kirito more deeply and learns to trust his judgement and his ability. At points, she even confides in him.
With all those serious qualities and the calm, polite, level-headed leader Asuna usually portrays herself as, she is still a normal girl at heart. There are two things she is absolutely passionate about and that’s cooking and baths. She even enters Kirito’s room upon first meeting him when he mentions he has a bathroom and a tub to use because she wants a bath so badly. She’s a bit materialistic and girly; she bought multiple outfits in SAO, spent 4 million col (money in SAO) on a nice house, and helped her friend Liz find a costume for her shop to attract more customers. She can get a bit shy too though, although that translates into her getting mad about something or other. Once she gets close to others, she tends to show a bit more of her playful, mischievous, childish side. People are affected greatly by the warmth and care she exudes. She's a bit spoiled too and can get a bit dorky over cute things like small dogs and young children to dote over them indulgently because a world outside of school is somewhat foreign to her. Especially something like a virtual world with fantastical sights. There were numerous occasions where Asuna abandoned her serious disposition to spin around in a grove of trees or stare up in awe at an Inn that was inside a hollowed out tree.
That childish side is also terrified of things in the horror category, particularly paranormal things. Any of the horror-themed dungeons in Aincrad she made excuses to not be a part of. Even if Asuna seems like a earnest, well-mannered lady at a distance once you get close to her it’s easy to see that she is soft and caring and much more than she makes herself out to be. Although she is a girl who values efficiency and strength, she also secretly enjoys the small things in life. More than anything, she cares about other people and their well-being. At her core Asuna has the heart of a lion – one who’s bold and fierce but also loves just as fiercely.
Abilities: Asuna's weapon of choice is a rapier and it's perfect for her speed type. Her attack style is focused on accuracy and striking at critical points with it. Even if her rapier isn't as strong as Kirito's «Elucidator», her style makes up for it. The tip of her sword moves so quickly that Kirito compares it to that of a meteor and it's difficult to follow. She's so fast with her rapier and on foot that she's earned the title 'The Flash' among her peers in SAO and within her guild KoB. It's canon that her speed is so incredible that it has basically broken the system and exceeded the limitations it has set. She's able to cross a 5km distance in five minutes compared to the normal hour. Few match Asuna in terms of movement.
For having never played an MMO in her life to being part of the 10% of SAO's best players that consisted of mostly beta testers, Asuna handles and adapts to situations out of her control well. Although a lot of her potential has to do with her spirit and determination, she also has great ambition and smarts. Without her intelligence, Asuna wouldn't have been able to pick-up the basics of an MMO so quickly. Besides that, she was at the top of her class in real life and aced any test thrown at her so she has a lot of knowledge. She has a ton of battle experience from being on the front lines for two years as well and spent a lot of time studying every aspect of SAO.
That battle experience and brain sets her apart when it comes to the group that clears dungeons so she holds the position as sub-leader. Though her previous approach to rallying the group together was to be very blunt and serious, she still had enough charisma and assertiveness that she was respected and looked up to.
--
Without all that speed and skill with a rapier, Asuna is still a slender girl. She doesn't have any bulging muscles despite high STR stats. That sort of thing doesn't carry over from the avatar to real life. She's about as physically strong though as your average person would be if she's outside the system. Her armor choice didn't make up for it either. Since she's a speed type, she doesn't wear anything heavy in fear that it would lower her speed. So she's about as vulnerable as someone not wearing any armor at all. All she has is a light metal breastplate on her chest.
Beyond physical weaknesses, her pride can also be used against her. She's a competitive girl and inherently wants to fight strong players to test her abilities. She has a sort of pride she's gained from being a top-level player in SAO and also because Kirito is even stronger than her. But her pride isn't infallible since paranormal and other scary things can get her hesitate or, worst case, run away screaming.
People's lives being in danger could be used against her too, especially her friends. For a girl that had nothing but everything in the real world, she treasures true friendships. She wants to be a protector instead of being protected so there's no question she would come to the aid of someone who asked it.

Dialogue:
test drive
Exposition/Introspection:
Prompt: The teacher has issued a test in which every question asked relates to Asuna (questions like: "How many teeth are inside Asuna Yuuki's skull?"). Everyone in the class seems to be writing down answers.
Asuna is good at tests. She's aced every paper that was placed down in front of her from the moment she was given her first entrance exam in Kindergarten. Her entire life has been about passing quizzes and graduating from one grade to the next with high scores, staying at the top. That is, until SAO. This test shouldn't be any different. So while she's preparing herself to seriously focus on the questions and give the right answers, she also feels wave after wave of deja vu. She's done this so many times.
Even now she can see the one hundred percent mark at the top of the page as she reads the first question calmly.
At what age did Asuna Yuuki receive her first teddy bear?
"Wha──!? This is...!"
Her chair squeaks against the ground as Asuna stands up out of her seat halfway with a choked sound in her throat. She's not so calm anymore, eyes widening slowly at the innocent question printed on the page. Her head jerks up and her face pales, looking around the classroom quickly and at all the students with their heads down, pencils scribbling. What is this? Did they have the same test as her? Is this some joke? She can't see from her spot and if she does try and peek over, she's sure she'll be punished for trying to cheat.
First of all, why would she have to cheat on a question that's obviously about her?! Second of all, she doesn't cheat. As she looks back down, she notices that... all the questions are about her.
This has to be a joke, right? She's dreaming. It's another nightmare. As if the strength has left her, she drops back into her chair. But why is everyone acting like they know the answers? Nobody could possibly know when she got her first teddy bear or what placement she had in the mock exams before being trapped in SAO. Yet those pencils are moving. The sounds of writing echoes in her ears while logic and sense seem to disappear completely.
Deliriously, she realizes that if anybody should get top marks on this it should be her. It's a quiz about her life. It's not much of a comfort when she has people around the room knowing her three sizes at question number seven. Her fingers press to her temples and she exhales a slow, slow breath. After, she will have to talk to the teacher about this. It's an invasion of privacy! Grinding her teeth, she throws a glare up towards the front of the room where they're standing.
It's a test, she tells herself. She has to finish this test or she will fail and failure is the worst possible outcome. So she picks up her pencil slowly and poises the lead to answer the first question. And then onto the next, and so on and so forth while she burns holes into each and every inquiry about her personal life.
Even if she knew she had started late it's still a large disappointment when someone stops their writing and sits silently in their seat, finished with a test about her life before she is.

She wants to be a protector instead of being protected so there's no question she would come to the aid of someone who asked it.
